You should assume that all stroke patients in this activity are experiencing dysfunction due to the lack of oxygen to the affected area which caused damage to those neurons and they are no longer functioning. Explain the effect of each?
Cerebral cortex is associated with memory association, sensation, perception, thought and voluntary action. The damage to these area initially affects the muscle control in certain portions of the body. Then it may affect the memory of the person, his decision making capity will be affected.
Right premotor cortex is accosted with the planning of movememts of the left side. It prepares body muscle for exact movement. The damage to this area affects the muscle action on the left side. The addequate action of the area of the muscle is altered as the cordination is lost.
Right primary motor cortex is responsible for the generation of the motor impulses for the left side of the body. If this area is affected the ability to move the left side will be impaired mostly leads to paralysis.
Left primary somatosensory cortex is responsible for receiving sensation of touch ie proprioception, pain is nociception, Temperature in the right side. If this area is damaged it will affect the ability to sense these somatosensation in the right side and no such sensation will be there afterwards
