Well in today's era data is the fuel for innovations. A database is where we store the data. In the last decade, we have produced more than 90% of the world data.

We use the database in almost any sector. Some of the examples are.

  1. Social media: Every social media like Facebook, Instagram, twitter stores user information in the database. And by using that database they recommend friends, businesses, products, and topics to the customer.
  2. Ecommerce platform: There are many eCommerce platforms like Amazon, Flipkart that uses a database to store product information, pricing information, and user purchase history.
  3. Online Streaming: Platform like Netflix uses databases to generate a list of TV shows and movies to watch. It tracks customer preference to recommend him the tv shows.

DBMS allows substances and relations among them to frame tables. It means the substance is defined in a table(relation). It follows the ACID concepts which are Atomicity, Consistency, Isolation, and Durability.

Let us take an example employee table consist of 3 attributes which are Id, name, and salary. All the attributes(substance) are defined in the table(relation).

DBMS supports an agreement that helps the user to keep the integrity of the database. In short term, it prevents unintentional changes to information. If the changes are done by an unauthorized person, it will lead to the failure of data security.

There are various types of integrity in the database.

  1. Physical integrity: It deals with challenges associated with correctly storing and fetching the data itself. Challenges like electromechanical faults, design flaws, material fatigue, corrosion, power outages, and natural disaster.
  2. Logical integrity: It deals with the correctness of a piece of data, given a particular context. Challenges include software bugs, design flaws, and human errors
