it is a common and wake statement, where the speaker Mecullough express it in at a point of time. It is his openion, and may be true universally too, but not only in USA. No one hate praises, and everyone enjoys it. Praises and accolades are the first stages of achievements. When we are in the process of achievements, few people identify our unique talent and starts praising. for us it helps as motivation and perform still better, probably excellent. the extra-ordinary performance helps us to ahieve the target whatever we set for ourself.
I accept with the statement of Mecullough, because some of the people stops working on the area once they got praises and applauds from others. they thought they already achieved it and now they wish to be enjoy. But the fact is that when we are growing some may praise us some may criticise us, but we do not stop at that level and proceed with what we are doing. When we to love what we are doing, we can show miracles.
The statement from Mecullough is in general, but not specific and up to someextent it is not true, but not applicable to uiverse. There are some people who may satisfy with little and stop working/doing the same. But majority of the US people were most succesfull than any other nationalist, we can drawn the numbers if we read the history. Many succesful people launched hostorical products, those products which changed the world (like computer software/hardware, mobile phones, four wheelers etc) belongs to US only. I think the satement is not correct, and most of the people from US achieves something in their lives.
