The accumulated molecules will be used for the synthesis of molecules for which the accumulated molecules are precursors.
Succinyl CoA | threonine, isoleucine, methionine, valine |
Acetyl CoA | tyrosine, tryptophan, phenylalanine, threonine, isoleucine, lysine, leucine |
Oxaloacetate | asparate, aspraragine |
Citric acid cycle is an important process of aerobic respiration. It takes place in mitochondrial matrix. It is the step in aerobic respiration with yields the maximum number of ATP molecules by oxidative phosphorylation. Therefore if the cell is having high number of ATP molecules, then this cycle will not take place. Instead, the intermediates of this cycle will be used for the synthesis of other molecules which are listed in the table.
