A cartoon ad featuring Malala getting shot, falling on a mattress and recovering under the brand slogan “Bounce back” is one of the poorest public communication done in recent times. This advertisement was drafted for the promotion of mattress, which had the key feature of bouncing back. The advertisement was too animated and hurt the sentiments of a series of socially responsible citizens. Malala Yousafzai getting shot was heinous crime and the company was using it as a gimmick for its product promotion. The advertisement received flak from the audience and the company had to publically apologize for the ad.
The best way to prevent the above situation in future is to explore the theme of the advertisement and critically analyze it to explore that it does not hurt the sentiments of any sect of society.
Death by PowerPoint is the phenomena, which happens when the audience get bored to death by the way, a presenter is using PowerPoint software to deliver his content. To avoid such a situation, presenter must limit the content on the slides and have a steady flow in his presentation. The information presented in such presentations must be informative and crisp.
