Vitamins serve as co-enzymes in many biochemical reactions. Suppose you are a dietician who consults a patient, which desires to lose some weight. Considering that bacteria and human lipid biochemistry and the central metabolism are similar, what vitamins (co-enzymes) would you recommend to your patient to take and which to avoid?
Ans:I will recommend the pateint to take vitamin B and vitamin D to lose weight.
Vitamin B such as :riboflavin (B-2),niacin (B-3),pantothenic acid (B-5),pyridoxine (B-6),biotin (B-7), cobalamin (B-12) thay all play avery vital role in fully functional metabolism. They help to metabolise carbohydrates, proteins and fats to use the stored energy in the food. Low levels of one or more of these vitamins means your metabolism won’t be functioning at its best. This makes losing weight even harder.
Vitamin D-Adequate levels of vitamin D may also help prevent depression, according to some research. A positive attitude is also fundamental for an effective diet. It has been reported that vitamin D deficiency is associated with a higher risk of obesity and obesity-related complications.
I will ask the pateint to avoid Vitamin C as it assosiated to help gain weight, Vitamin B1 also known as thiamine is linked with those appetite who reports weight loss.
