A biology class wants to perform an experiment to investigate the effect of different colors of light of green yellow red and clear cellophane and Plant three seeds in each one.what part do the three seeds experiment?

Solutions

Expert Solution

If we wants to perform the experiment to investigate the effect of different Colors of light of yellow red and clear cellophane and plant three seeds in each one.

This experiment is done on the basis of independent variables. In this process there is one dependant variable is light which can be used from sunlight or artificial light. The dependent variable is temperature, humidity and growth of plant.

In the independent variables the variables changed by its own or purposely changed the amount of light.

The amount light is measured as it is independent variables and amount of temperature and humidity is measured due to their variables. So both the variables can be controlled and measured. As there is clear cellophane which absorbs the visible light and red light remains as it is. If we use dubble red filter cellophane then red light is absorbed. Like this ways we can calculate amount of light and growth of plant.

You are designing an experiment to investigate the effect of odor on alertness. In this experiment, 10 subjects will experience the experimental condition (smelling peppermint) and another 10 will be given the control condition (odorless). You know that age significantly affects the sense of smell, with people over the age of 60 showing a decreased ability to identify odors. A total of 20 subjects of all ages (18-80) have signed up for the experiment. How would you assign them to...

A physics professor wants to perform a lecture demonstration of Young's double-slit experiment for her class using the 633nm light from a He-Ne laser. Because the lecture hall is very large, the interference pattern will be projected on a wall that is 6.0m from the slits. For easy viewing by all students in the class, the professor wants the distance between the m=0 and m=1 maxima to be 30cm . What slit separation is required in order to produce the...

1. Using your knowledge of cell & molecular biology techniques, design an experiment to investigate a novel hypothesis for the process of vesicle transport. The hypothesis proposes that a network of defined microfilament tracts in the cytoplasm exist (like railroad tracks!) and that are not visible under a microscope and that do not stain with the regular histochemical dyes that are available. These tracts are of distinctly different types and are made up of proteins – each type of unique...

An experiment was conducted to investigate the effect of extrusion pressure (P) and temperature at extrusion (T) on the strength y of a new type of plastic. Two plastic specimens were prepared for each of five combinations of pressure and temperature. The specimens were then tested in a random order and the breaking strength for each specimen was recorded. The independent variables were coded (transformed) as follows to simplify the calculations: x1= (P-200)/10, x2= (T-400)/25. The n=10 data points are...
