Simply the evolution is the heritable changes of organisms over successive generations. Evolution is occures at every biological levels like molecules (Proteins, DNA, RNA etc), species level etc. Primarily the evolution of photosynthesis caused by the single celled organisms that is cynobacteria breaks the water molecule by using sunlight and provide energy to their cell and releasing oxygen thats why these are responsible for the life. Cynobacteria are also called as photosynthetic cynobacteria. Oxygen that released by the cynobacteria is reactive, so it is highly toxic. This oxygen breaks our genetic material, it also binds with the metal ions of the cell. The cell uses these metal ions as to shuttle surrounding electrons. Many MOs died off or were forced to hide because they could not cope with this toxic molecule (oxygen). This atmospheric oxygen changes MOs metabolism and their life. Due to these changes mass extinction happened to the global environment.
