How is it that we urinate different amounts everyday but our body is able to keep the glomerular filtration stabled?

Solutions

Expert Solution

Glomerular filtration is the first step of urine formation. This is kept stable. Glomerular filtration is the filtration of blood into the Bowman's capsule. But we know that what glomerular filtrate formed is not the urine that we eliminate.

After glomerular filtration water reabsorption takes place. It's upto the body need as a part of homeostasis mechanism. As the presence of waste product concentration is more the water reabsorption will be less. In case we drink a plenty of water the blood level may increase leading to increase in water excretion creating less water reabsorption. In case body needs more water more water is reabsorbed from the PCT,DCT, collecting tubule etc. In case of decrease in blood pressure may lead to the renin - angiotensinogen to act on its and the aldosterone formed at last which acts on the nephron to increase water transportation.in case of heavy sweating body needs water. Then body needs water and more water is reabsorbed. That's why different urine volume is fomed in different days.

As humans, we keep track of large amounts of information more efficiently by putting it into categories. One example of this is to organize the organs of the human body into organ systems – you have 11 listed in chapter 5 of your textbook. Organizing the body in this way is useful but can cause us to view each organ system individually when, in fact, organ systems work together in many ways. Make a convincing argument for viewing the organ...

We stay healthy because our bodies keep everything in balance. Which system, that we studied this semester, do you think is the most important in maintaining homeostasis? In your discussion be sure to include the main function of the system, cells and tissues that are involved, and how it maintains homeostasis. You can also include how it helps regulate other systems if you think that is important
