Since LSD was discovered, a large number of close analogs have been synthesized. Describe the structure, synthesis, and biological activity of ALD-52 relative to d-LSD.
Synthesis of ALD -52
1)Make a strong base hydrolyse to obtain Lysergic acid
hydrate.
2) add acetic anhydride (or even Propionic anhydride or acyl
chloride) plus Sulfuric acid. It'll give N-Acetyl-Lysergic acid
sulfate.
3) Mix N-Acetyl-Lysergic acid, Phosphoryl chloride and
DiethylAmide, heat. It'll give ALD-52.
Synthesis of d-LSD
The structure of the drug was very similar to the compounds extracted from the ergot fungus. We have to use as starting material ergotamine and most of the structural work was already been done by nature, so we will focus in this article on the total synthesis of the drug, which means, a synthetic route that can be performed using reagents that are commercially available.
Thank you, hope this answer will help.
