Since LSD was discovered, a large number of close analogs have been synthesized. Describe the structure, synthesis, and biological activity of ALD-52 relative to d-LSD.

Solutions

Expert Solution

Synthesis of ALD -52

1)Make a strong base hydrolyse to obtain Lysergic acid hydrate.
2) add acetic anhydride (or even Propionic anhydride or acyl chloride) plus Sulfuric acid. It'll give N-Acetyl-Lysergic acid sulfate.
3) Mix N-Acetyl-Lysergic acid, Phosphoryl chloride and DiethylAmide, heat. It'll give ALD-52.

Synthesis of d-LSD

The structure of the drug was very similar to the compounds extracted from the ergot fungus. We have to use as starting material ergotamine and most of the structural work was already been done by nature, so we will focus in this article on the total synthesis of the drug, which means, a synthetic route that can be performed using reagents that are commercially available.

Thank you, hope this answer will help.

Over the last 10 years, a large number of iceballs have been found in the outer solar system out beyond Pluto. These objects are collectively known as the Kuiper Belt. An amateur astronomer suggests using the radar ranging technique to learn the rotation periods of Kuiper Belt Objects. Do you think that this plan would be successful? Explain why or why not?

Monopoly is a market structure in which there is a single seller and large number of buyers and selling products that have no close substitution and have a high entry and exit barrier. For the purpose of regulation, monopoly power exists when a single firm controls 25% or more of a particular market. Discuss how the existence of a single dominant supplier for a commodity affects the market and consumer demand.give example

A good with many close substitutes is likely to have relatively demand, since consumers can easily choose to purchase one of the close substitutes if the price of the good rises. A good’s price elasticity of demand depends in part on how necessary it is relative to other goods. If the following goods are priced approximately the same, which one has the least elastic demand? Historically, the structure of retailing in India was very fragmented with a large number of very small stores serving most of the market. Supply chains were also very poorly developed and fragmented. As recently as 2010, larger format big box stores, chain stores, and supermarkets only accounted for 4 percent of retail sales in the country (compared to 85 percent in the United States). This might sound like an ideal opportunity for efficient foreign retailers such as Walmart, IKEA, Tesco,...
