A bond is formed when two atoms come together. A bond is thread hold at two ends for keeping individuals at two ends together.If Bond breakage happens those two individuals won't be together. Earth is bonded by the sun because of gravity. Electrons are held with atom due to electrostatic interaction between the positively charged nucleus and negative charge electron...Similarly, Nitrogen being electronegative and H (proton) being positively charged interact together to form an N-H bond.

Though they are in a bond, due to perturbation(small disturbances) from the environment like change in temperature or interaction with other electrostatic forces, both Nitrogen and Hydrogen in N-H are vibrating. These vibrations are in the range corresponding to Infrared frequency. Therefore IR source can create a measurable disturbance that can be detected easily using FTIR studies. The FTIR measures N-H symmetric stretching from 3300 cm-1 to 3450 cm-1.
