some philosophers and scientists are instrumentalists and some
are realists . write answer for arguing for that view. describe
different parts of theories like observation language , theoretical
language and correspondence rules. if you choose for any, give
reasons why it is like that.
its about philosophy.
Realists believe that things in this world exists on their own without the help of our perceptions, beliefs, language etc. Who sees that thing makes the difference and it depends on the belief system of the environment. So, when one sees a snake one kills it because they perceive it as a danger while another sees it as a God, so venerates it.
Instrumentalists believe in the idea that concepts and theories shouldn’t stop with their theoretical explanations but move to the next stage of experimenting and finding out scientifically whether they are really true and whether they have the potential to help people.
Realists use theoretical language where they only propose some concepts without testing it scientifically and verifying their authenticity. It’s more of an abstract and metaphysical idea.
Instrumentalists use observational language where they observe the theory being practiced and verify the outcomes in order to decide the authenticity and utility of that theory to the society and people.
Correspondence rules are those that look for a connection between the theoretical knowledge and observational language acting like a bridge.
