For an in-class demonstration with NO gas, I prepared the NO gas according to the following balanced equation:
2 NaNO2(s) + 3 H2SO4(aq) + FeSO4(aq) 2 NO(g) + Fe2(SO4)3(aq) + 2 NaHSO4(aq) + 2 H2O(l)
Determine the volume of gas expected to be produced at 25 oC and barometric pressure = 782. torr (when vapour pressure of water = 24 torr) when 2.64 mL 3.00 M H2SO4(aq) is reacted with excess NaNO2(s) and excess FeSO4(aq).
