This example is from the field F"Nutrition and Health Optimization"

Example: you wish to study the effects of tea on weight loss and form three groups: green tea, black tea, and no tea. Here, the study may go around recording the weights of a random sample of people consuming each kind of tea and then recording their weights again after some weeks. This exercise will help know weight loss (in kgs).

Here, the independent variable is the type of tea comsumed by the person. There are three categories as green tea, black tea and no tea.

The dependent variable is the weight loss which is measured in kgs and is on Interval scale.
