Explain how the processing parameters for INJECTION MOULDING can influence the tensile strength for a given polymer, explain this in terms of polymer properties.

Solutions

Expert Solution

Processing parameters for injection molding gives good tensile strength products when plastic polypropylene is studied. Melting temperature , injection pressure , packing pressure and packing time are the parameters that mostly influence the tensile strength more. Therefore these parameters are always carefully studied and worked upon by researchers. Researchers found that reprocessing cycles on shrinkage and mechanical properties of acrylonitrile butadiene styrene. When cycle increased tensile strength increased.
When melting temperature, injection pressure and cooling time of polycarbonate is increased , the tensile strength is increased.
