Sulphoxide function group
This fictional group contains (SO) sulfinyl group which is attached to the two carbon atoms. And it is a polar functional group
Acidity of any functional group is based on how easily it can give proton and this is calculated and Pka of it is determined
Elements having sulfoxide functional group don't have protons to donate unlike carboxylic acid functional group
The lower the Pka value higher the acidity
For ex. HCl has Pka -9.0
Water has Pka 14
Dimethyl sulfoxide (contains sulfoxide ions) has pka value 35
Which tells us that it is not acidic
Sulfoxide functional group is not acidic in nature
Or very very very weak acid.
