which cell types is most responsible for transplant rejection?
which antibody segment interests with antigens?
what does the CD designation for specific immunity mechanism mean?
A)
Transplant rejection occurs when bodys immune system considers transplanted organ as external or foreign and attacks it with immune cells B- cells and T -cells which circulate in the blood.
B cells recognise organ as foreign and produces lots of antibodies and this inturn alerts other immune cells and attacks the transplanted organ .ie Antibody mediated rejection.
T cells recognises the transplanted organ as foreign and destroys the cells in the transplanted organ .ie T -cell mediated rejection.
B) Antigen binding site ie. paratope interacts with antigen epitope and binds in lock and key fashion. The binding of ag and ab requires lot of noncovalent bonds like hydrophobic bonds, hydrogen bonds, electrostatic bonds vandervalls interactions ionic bonds etc.
C) CD means cluster of differentiation or classification determinant. CD is used to identify cell surface molecules providing targets for immunophenotyping of cells.
CD designation for NK cells--CD3-CD16+CD56+
CD designation of a B-cell ---CD19+CD20+CD22+
CD designation for helper T cells----CD3+CD4+CD8+
CD designation for cytotoxic T cells-----CD3+CD8+CD4-
