Solutions

Expert Solution

U.S wants to hire more foreign workers for jobs which are not taken up by American people to work in housekeeping, landscaping, restaurants and other fields like agriculture, dairy farms etc on temporary basis which are essential for the US economy. The country also lacks the workers needed for some seasonal jobs like tourism, ski resorts etc. Hiring foreign workers also help in amalgamation of ideas which help in boosting the economy. US is one of the topmost economy of the world which need both skilled workers for researches and innovation and unskilled workers to work in the economic sectors which require manual labours.

Hiring of Foreign workers by US does not affect the GDP negatively as the jobs, wages and other facilities are well protected for their local citizens. As hiring more workers from foreign ensure more productivity of workers due to stiff competition and factor of production also increases which is a good sign for the GDP. It is also estimated that the growth of the US economy would have been 15% lower than it is, had the country not opted for hiring foreign workers. As foreign workers also help in increasing the revenue of government by paying taxes, The economy keeps expanding except the recession time.

The US government offers visas to its foreign workers and not citizenship and green card as the country is already overpopulated with the burden of illegal immigrants and the country has surpassed its affordability limit to its citizens in terms of employment, natural resources and citizens rights. Providing each and every foreign worker citizenship or green card will further aggravate the situation and the economy will crash due to increasing unemployment, diminishing natural resources, increasing demands will increases prices of products and more dependence on imported products which will hamper in the development of the country. So in order to retain the country's economy intact and fundamental rights of citizens' intact, the government offers visas to foreign workers.
