1.) Integration has wide applications in the field of mathematics and some of its applications are -:

i.) It is used to calculate area between curves and triple integration can be used to find the volume of a solid .

ii.) Integration also comes in handy while dealing with exponential growth and decay as it involves both integration and differentiation .So integration is helpful in the topics like exponential growth and decay .

iii.)The arc length of a curve can be evaluated through integration .The arc length is first calculated through line segments drawn that generates riemann sum and then it involves a definite integral after we take limits .

2.) There are wide applications of integration in the real world too :

i.) In the laboratories , the rate of chemicals reactions are studied which involves the use of basic calculus and knowledge of integration becomes important to reach the conclusions .

ii.) The study of spread of diseases which spread at an exponential rate also require knowledge of integration .The disease like coronavirus can be studied through integration .Other infectious diseases which spread at an exponential rate also can be calculated through calculus involving integration .

3.) In the field of epidemiology that is when we have to study the spread of infectious diseases which spread at an exponential rate just like ebola ,Aids and coronavirus etc , the use of integration comes in handy to calculate the number of people recovered, the number of people infected and those who are susceptible to be infected .There are times when lawyers use integration to calculate the time for the prosecution and planning their future cases .Graphic artists who work to modify the video games graphics and movies use calculus to study how the graphics would behave when subjected to different variations .So it becomes really important to have the basic knowledge of integration as it solves complex problems in various fields .
