Why is presenting an activity in this manner (as a provocation) important?

" Provocations" in Reggio Emilia class room are objects and activities that stimulates imagination and creativity in young learners that facilitates effective learning in the classroom. Reggio Emilia classroom emphasizes on learning by getting involved directly in the learning process. The provocations makes easier to gain experience for the young learners by involving them directly in the learning process. They learn by doing, observing, imagining, listening etc. This makes them to participate directly and have experience of the concept aimed to be learnt and thus, learning become easier and effective.
Learning of shapes in children can be effectively facilitated when they are provided with color pencils and paper, and are allowed to make their imaginative homes,rooms of different shapes,or things that attracts them and are in different shapes. Also, providing them with moulding clay to create their shapes will enhance their learning of different shapes.
