Morality is a subjective expression towards a universally ethical principality of human life. One has to keep in mind that Morality though being subjective in nature, it has to be tested on three important grounds: Logically consistent, Empirically adequate and Experientially relevant. When the morality of certain behavior has passed these three grounds, then certainly morality has been empowered.

Keeping this in mind, adultery in itself is contradicting as these oppose the very nature of morality. Adultery is not a virtue, and therefore a vice. Virtue is a character that typically involves dispositions to act, feel, and think in certain ways and that is central to a positive evaluation of persons. Whereas, Vice is a character or mind that typically involves dispositions to act, feel and think in certain ways, and that is central to a negative evaluation of persons. Therefore, Adultery has always been central to negative evaluation of persons. There is a lot majority where they agree, that adultery is bad.

Reasons, adultery could be bad is because, according to social theories, Adulterous lifestyle simply breaks an emotional bond with the person you are married to. It takes away the freedom of expressing yourself freely with the person you are married to, and makes you more passive and hiding in your deep personal affairs, which will further spoil your relationships with your loved ones. Any married relationships, trust and transparency becomes the prime factor. But while having an adulterous lifestyle, the very factor is broken. Because one cannot be open about the adulterous lifestyle. As it will demean the other person, and could really cause an emotional and psychological damage in them. The one who is engaged in an adulterous lifestyle also lives in guilt of breaking a law. According to the Vatican Declaration, it declares that “any sexual act may only be within the constraints of marriage” (Vatican 80), This is an universal concept followed by the ancient world. Adultery simply breaks this rule, making the individual guilty of cheating the spouse.

However, one can assume that adultery is just a sexual expression towards anybody you like. And it does not involve any emotional bonds. So, it may not be a moral issue. This statement could be a logical fallacy. Author Holly Hill wrote a book titled Sugarbabe: The Controversial, Real Story of a Woman in Search of a Sugardaddy, where she attempts to inform the reader why it is permissible to commit adultery. She attempts to teach young women by her experience that adultery is permissible and even encourages sexually troubled marriages to engage in negotiated infidelity. She also poses the idea of a sugarbabe which is a woman who uses a married man for his money through means of sexual intercourse.

But she identifies an issue with adultery as she recognizes it is the possibility to become unwillingly emotionally attached to a sexual partner which could possibly harm a marriage. Harming a marriage is not a simple thing especially where children are involved. The upbringing of the child will be questioned. The growth and maturity of a child will diminish by having an adulterous lifestyle.

So these few lines makes it clear that adultery is a moral issue, it degrades virtue and embraces negative lifestyle. This could possibly cause harm to an interpersonal relationship which will further cause harm to the intra-personal relationship. At the beginning everything could be justified and sweet, but as things go forward, the pain is inevitable and the concerns of morality is degraded.
