Identify the organs of the urinary system and any organs that are different between male and female.
Identify the basic function of each organ.
Explain the tissues of that organ and how they pertain
to the process of propelling urine through the system.
In males , the urinary system consists of kidneys, ureters, bladder and urethra and as well as same in females also . But the change in the size of urethra keep them apart between male and female. In female the urethra is about 1.5 to 2 inches long which is sutuated between cli -oris and the va-gina.
The function of the kidney is to filter the blood . In this filteration , it removes the waste, contrils the bodys fluid balance etc.
The function of ureter is to carry the waste producuts from kidney to the bladder.
The function of the bladder is to store the urine .
The function of urethra is to carry the urine to outside the body from the bladder.
The kidney is sorrounded by tough fibrous tissue, and the ureter is surrounded by three layers , the ouer layer consists of fibrous coat, os supporting layer of fibrous connective tissue and the middle layer have muscular coating consists of inner circular and outer longutudinal muscle. The main function of this layer is peristalsis, which helps in the propulsion of urine. The bladder is lined with transitional epithelial tissue which stretch significantly to accommodate large volumes of urine. The urethra is composed of an inner epithelial lining, a spongy submucosa, a middle smooth muscle layer, and an outer fibroelastic connective tissue layer.
