1) Two Way ANOVA: Two Way ANOVA is used when we want to estimate how the mean of a quantitative variable is affected by the levels of two categorical variables. It is also used when we want to how two independent variables in combination affect a dependent variable.
Example: Is there a difference in mean life of the batteries for differing material types and operating temperature levels at levels (1,2,3) for differing material types and low(-10 degrees celsius), medium(20 degrees celsius) and high(45 degrees celsius) for temperature levels.
In this case battery life is a continuous variable whose mean is affected by the two categorical variables(differing material types) and temperature levels.
2) Regression analysis: Regression analysis is used when we want to model or analyze data It is also used to describe the relationship between the independent variable and the dependent variable.
Example: You want to know if there is a relationship between food consumption and body mass.
