What are the pros and cons of inpatient treatment centers? Provide at least two pros and two cons with rationale in your response.
hi
When we fall ill, the doctors decide whether we need to be admitted
to the hospital. Such patients are called inpatients who are under
the surveliiance of the doctors within the hospital premises. If
the illness is not severe and if the patient can go back to his
place after the treatment each day, he is called an
outpatient.
There are many pros and cons of inpatient:
Pros:
1. Structured care
The inpatients are given utmost care by nursing staff and resident
doctors. They are under constant supervision and hence are bette
treated. Inpatients follow a daily routine of food and bath and
hence get adjusted to more effective lifestyle.
2. Free from outside stresses
The inptients do not deal with their other life stresses such as
office work, meeting clients ..what not. The freedom from these
stress help in quick recovery.
Cons:
1. Expensive
The inpatient care is always expensive which is a major
drawback.
2. Transition period after the release.
The patients live in stress free world inside the hospital. But
when they are discharged and allowed to go home, they encounter all
their life style associated stress. This transition can be
problematic and can somtimes resuscite the problmes just
treated.
