how to compare data?

Solutions

Expert Solution

Mainly while comparing two data set we can carry out it by 5 ways

1. The first comparison is based on graphical representation. We can draw suitable graphical diagram corresponding to the data sets.

2.we can compare the two data set by observing their mean/ median/ mode ( that is the measure of central tendency)

3.here we can compare the data set by calculating different measures of dispersion like standard deviations, quartile deviations ,range etc.if the data sets are having different unit we can also use relative measures of dispersion like coefficient of variation.

4. We can also compare the data sets by their respective skewness.computing skewness measures for the data sets.

5.another way out to compare the data sets is to observe their kurtosis. Wheather they are platikurtic or leptokurtic or mesokurtic or not.

These all type of comparison can be done by representing the data set in boxplot diagram.
