Provide 3 CON arguments with supporting evidence about Trump Trade & Tariff Policy
The issue is that our local manufacture are long since disbanded or scaled back. This means a period of high prices as those industries are restarted to provide local competitors, however as those come back on line, the prices will stabilze.
Protectionism requires something to Protect. it’s there to ensure that a sweat shop of near slavery conditions can’t completely obliterate the domestic competition that has to meet minimum quality and safety guidelines as well as paying it’s people a solid living wage.
While this is a step in right direction, it never should’ve gotten to this point in the first place. And like every big change there’s gonna be growing pains while things re-align themselves.
But it also means new opportunities.
I personally see it as an overhaul benefit. Provided they don’t waffle and screw it up.
It’s gonna take more than 3 years to get this stuff back running, and if anther president comes long next time and rips it apart again, everyone involved is going bankrupt.
Which means there’s a lot of risk and may cause things to stagnate rather than taking advantage of this to get the USA a bit more self-sufficient again and add some new local jobs so the money stays here and circulates here instead of escaping abroad.
