Daughter cells and chromosomes present in progeny are identical in mitosis as here diploid cells are separated into two new diploid cells but in meiosis daughter cells and chromosomes are not identical as diploid cells are separated into four haploid cells. in meiosis, number chromosomes are also half and due to crossing over in meiosis, they look different than parent chromosomes.
