1. Write a summary. Write a small summary explaining the differences between correlation and the chi-square test for independence. Post your summary to the discussion forum.
2. List two examples where you would use correlation to test the relationship between two variables, and two examples where you would use chi-square to test the relationship.
## 1) correlation and chi square test both are different uses and used for difference formula ;
Correlation is about the linear relationship between two variables , usually , both are continuous ( or nearly so ) but there are variation for the case where one is dichotomous .
Chi square is usually about the independence of two variables . Usually both are categorical . it is used when data are not follow normal distribution . it is non parametric test .
## 2) List two examples where you would use correlation to test the relationship between two variables, and two examples where you would use chi-square to test the relationship
there are several examples in day to day life use correlation and chi square test.
for correlation : 1) correlation between height and age 2) correlation between age and weight . 3) age and blood pressure .
* there are positive type and negative type of correlation test .
for chi square test : 1) a scientist wants to know if education level and marital status are related for all people in some country.
2) "Which holiday do you prefer?"
