I think one of the most precious things you can share with another person is your time.

Our time is limited and important and often wasted so who you choose to share most of it with should be important to you as you should be to them.

I can't imagine splitting my precious personal time and experiences between multiple people. There are moments and memories that are special enough for me to want to share them with only one person.
Having a single mate, especially in males, was not easily explained by theories based on reproductive fitness (Barash and Lipton, 2002).

Second reason what i think is love is diferent from lust.

The idea of an open relationship and whatever, is usually related to lust or to one not being in love, but needing another one. So they get someone ‘stuck' in an open relationship (if that makes sense).

A relationship is not just about sex and people forget. Sometimes it's about not doing anytging at all with your partner, just siting on the sofa: one reads, the other watches a movie.

Because of the way a relationship is built, it made sense to be between 2 people. The tradition remains and it stil makes sense (and not one who is in love need a thrid partie)

The problem is many people are dating, even thoug, in reality, they're not in love, so they need to arranje that relationship, to make it pleasant. Unfortunately, they don't understand their passing their emotional problem to a relationship.

Many people are stuck in relationships they in fact wouldnt want, if they were emotionally ok, ex: boy has a rich girlfriend because that way he doesnt thinks he doesnt constantly remember he's not rich; girl needs a guy because she cant be alone. However, neither or or other is in love. They need their partner and feel and consider neediness love.

Because theyre not in love, theyre not happy. But they cant leave otherwise all the problems will come back. So they cope with it, changing the relationship structure so they dont deal with the emotional pain.

But some people are just addicted to sex. They dont love, but want sex.
