A.Your business has expanded overseas to the country of Belai. During a visit to your overseas location you find out for the first time that children, ages 10 and under, are working for you. You know child labor is against the law in the United States, but it is completely legal in Belai where your business is operating. Replacing the children with adults, would cost twice as much. What ethical issues does this raise for you and how will your business go about solving them?
As per las in US (other majorly countries), children under 18 working for any organization or performing any job is illegal. The illegalities are assigned to any action if they are found unethical, gruesome, not-acceptable, incorrect to any situation or to any individual. Making children work before age of 18 is not-acceptable & unethical due to their inabilities to work. As an owner of company, we do hold certain ethical values that needs to be followed no matter the country in which we are working. Even if there is no legality associated with children working before age of 18, we would not make any children work in our company despite of company being deployed in Belai or any other region of the world.
Although the cost of hiring an adult would be twice, we would always hire an appropriate & deserving candidate rather than replacing with them cheaper child worker. Proper trainings & knowledge will be given so that we hire the exact number of adults as needed in the process. Business is running in other parts of the globe & it will run in same manner in Belai as well. Ethics cannot be put at cost for saving a few dollars.
