A Long bones are hard.Example for long bone is femur bone present in the thigh. It provides strrength and mobility.Long bones are prseent in teh appendicular skeleton.Diaphysis is the central part of the bone which is clearly tubular. .It runs between the distal and proximal ends of the bone. There is a medullary cavity in which the bone marrow is filled. At the end of the long bone a region known as epiphysis present and it comprommise the the bony substructure of joint surface.
Flat bones are the type of bones present in the skull and teh sternum. Its function is to give extensive protection. These tyupes of bones are made up of thin layers of compact bones..Red blood cells are mostly found in flat bones.
B. The osteon is otherwise known as harvesian system. The functional unit off compact bne is osteon. It is cylindrical in structure.Harvesian system is surrouded by harversian canal. It contains the bones blood vessels .It provides strength and protection to the bones.
Flat bones provides muscle attachment .They are formed by two thin layer of compact bones and is surrounded by a layer of spongy bone or cancellous bone. These types of bones grow into broad bones present in the cranium ,scapula, illeum and rib cage.Cancellous bones ,make up the shaft of long bones.
C Compact bones are the stronger bones.
