Given the following linkage map, what is the probability that an individual of genotype AbC/aBc produces a gamete that is abC?

      A______3 cM______B_____________16 cM_____________C

A) 1.3%

B) 2.5%

C) 7.8%

D) 15.5%

Expert Solution

Linkage is the tendency of Inheritance of 2 or more genes more frequently than expected from probability alone.

It is an exception of Independent assortment

Linkage Map where where distance between two gene given in centimorgan cM gives us percent of recombination frequency(RF)

1℅RF = 1 cM

Hence if there is 3cM distance between 2 gene it means Recombination frequency between them is 3%

(1 pt) 72 homozygous Dn, 72 homozygous Dg, 143 heterozygous DnDg <- this is the answer I found Imagine that the observed numbers of F2 individuals of each genotype are: 3 DnDn, 144 DnDm, and 140 DmDm. Perform a Chi-square analysis to determine whether the authors can reject the null hypothesis of equal segregation of alleles.
