Expert Solution

As a construction engineer , the quality aspects that should be checked for ongoing project are -

1) The strength of concrete mix - It is very important to have high strength concrete used in the construction of a building but due to some quality negligence it always happens to be low strength concrete .so , quality check on concrete mix would be very necessary.

2) Structural design of the building - The structural design is also an important aspect as the structure is being designed with having good factor of safety or not , proper shear walls are provided or not in case of safety against earthquake , The reinforcement used in the structure at different places is of proper design or not etc . So , checking design aspects is also important.

3) Safety features - Checking the safety features like fire safety is provided or not , the size of footsteps of stairs are comfortable or not , the safety in case of emergency exit is provided or not . If provided is it comfortable to use or not .so , these are some safety features that should be checked in a building.

4) Planning - checking the planning part of a structure is also necessary this can be checked by matching the details of building from the map of construction provided and this would be available with the developer.so , it's also important to check the planning aspects.

5) Quality check - The quality check is also required in type of brick used , type of cement used , the plastering , the paint that's being used , quality of reinforcement, strength of aggregates used . So, quality check is also very necessary.
