How is identity communicated generally, and how do you communicate your identity? What is the relationship between cultural and religious or spiritual identity? How are they different/similar?
Identity and self concept are something that are created and communicated with the intercourse that takes between a society and an individual. We partially formulate our identity around what people think us to be, and we validate that further by developing it into our self concept. It is partly the reason why we also end up developing harmful self concepts as the society imposes upon us certain ideals with respect to our identity.
The communication of ones identity take place by the affiliations, conduct and the likes of the two. By our behavior and mannerisms within certain situations and contexts we are able to communicate what we identify with, and as a result the society then groups us with the identity.
Cultural Religious and Spiritual identities are similar in the aspects of being group identity, a more macro level of identity than a more personal and localized or individual identity. The are different in the sense that a culture won't be representative of a particular religion, a religion won't be representative of spirituality and the like. These identities can not be superimposed and generalized through misnomers or stereotypes.
