Difference between presentation accommodation and response accommodation:
Presentation Accommodation: Presentation Accommodation helps students to retrieve instructions in such a way that they are not required to visually read the standard print. Students who are going through print disabilities (which means a persons inability to visually decode the standard print because of reasons like physical, cognitive or sensory disability) may require alternate auditory, visual or tactile formats
Response Accommodation: Response accommodation helps students to record their responses to the test question in alternate ways or to organize or solve their responses making use of some type of material or device
Example of how each accommodation could be implemented or presented in an assessment:
1. Presentation Accommodation: A child who is suffering from dyslexia could listen to audiobooks as a substitute to reading printed text.
2. Response Accommodation: A child who are difficulties in writing down the essay can be provided with keyboard to write down his/her essay
3. Setting Accommodation: Child who is suffering from ADHD, might have a problem in learning in a normal classroom setting because there they can find lot of distractions. A change in the learning environment may be a separate room where their are fewer distractions can help them learn
4. Timing and Scheduling Accommodation: A child whose processing speed is slow could be provided with extra time for their homework
