Expert Solution

Answer-

According to the given question-

  • We know that living organism need energy for their survival and this energy are produced from the molecules found in the food and break by into water and carbon dioxide.
  • Humans also have the organ system responsible for eliminating the carbon dioxide from the blood as well as absorb the oxygen present in the air required for getting energy.
  • The respiratory system is divided into the upper respiratory system and lower respiratory system and consists of mouth, nose, and continues up to the lungs.
  • In the respiratory system air enters through mouth and nose and mouth and travel in downward towards the throat region having pharynx to the larynx or voice box.
  • The larynx has a covering of epiglottis which is a small flap of tissue and closed when we swallow food or drink and prevent the entry of these into airways.

Pathway of air --> Air enters through oral cavity or nasal cavities or can say to the nostrils ---> Nasopharynx --->oral pharynx --->glottis ---> trachea ---> right and left which is part of primary bronchi---> secondary bronchi ---> tertiary bronchi---> bronchioles---->cluster of alveoli which is work as a site for gaseous exchange.
