HIV is the human immunodeficiency virus that can potentially weaken the immune system of a person. It can be easily transmitted from one to another via blood, semen etc. It generates the disease named AIDS or Acquired immune deficiency syndrome.

  • When a person is diagnosed with HIV, his/her life can be changed very much. First of all, the mental health of the infected person can be decreased. In addition to that, the personal and professional life can be damaged too due to misconception of people about HIV. They usually try to avoid these people and make them isolate in the society that puts immense mental pressure on the patient. Family, friends, relatives and even colleagues stop all sorts of communication with them having the insecurity of being infected. In this way, a crisis occurs in the life of that person.
  • There are some ways to prevent this disease. The sexual activities must be done taking some protection like condoms, dental dams etc. During blood transmission, all equipments must be sterilised before using it. There should not be any sharing of needles. The Drug users must be aware during injection as an used syringe of a HIV positive person cause transmission to other.
  • Some medicines for HIV available in USA of NRTI or Nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitor class like lamivudine, tenofovir disoproxil fumerate, zidovudine etc. Also some NNRTI or Non-Nucleoside Reverse Transcriptase Inhibitors like doravirine, etravirine are available. These are all FDA approved medicines for HIV. Thus, these medicines are enough to treat this disease by controlling it. This will help the infected person to strengthen their weak immune system that prevents the transmission of this disease to others.
