Based on the confusion matrix what would be the answer?

True Positive equals 40, false positive equals 30, false negative equals 10, true negative equals 60

Solutions

Expert Solution

Confusion matrix is a method which helps to evaluate the performance.

Following formulas are used to calculate the various performance parameters of the confusion matrix:

We have given:

True Positive (TP) = 40

False Positive (FP) = 30

True Negative (TN) = 10

False Negative (FN) = 60

The sensitivity is also called as recall rate. It tells that 40% percent are predicted positive among all the actual positives.

The specificity is also called as true negative rate. It tells that 25% percent are predicted negative among all the actual negatives.

Precision tells that 57% are actual positives among all the predicted positives.

Negative predictive value tells that 14.2% percent are correctly predicted negative among all the negatives.

Accuracy determines the percentage of total number of predictions that are correct. Therefore, 35.5% of predictions are correct as per above data.
