Describe the primary functions of the various organs or structures of the cardiovascular system

Solutions

Expert Solution

the main organs of cardiovascular system are, The heart, blood vessels and blood.
the primary function of cardiovascular system is to circulate nutrients, oxygen, and hormones all over the body and removal of wastes(carbondioxide and nitrogenous waste) from the body.

Heart: the function of the heart is pump blood all over the body.heart transports the oxygenated blood that comes from the lungs to all parts of the body. it also collects all the deoxygenated blood from the body and sends it to lungs.

blood: blood is the transport medium of nutrients and oxygen. the movement of oxygen, nutrients and hormones all over the body is carried out by blood. blood mainly transports oxygen and carbondioxide throughout the body which is responsible for the process of respiration. it transports nutrients from digestive system to storage sites of the body. it also transports hormones from their site of production to the target cells. blood maintains the temperature to regulate the activity of the body.

blood vessels: the path in which the blood flows through the body is laid by blood vessels. blood vessels contain arteries, veins and capillaries. arteries carry blood away from the heart and veins carries blood to the heart. capillaries sorround body cells and tissues to deliver oxygen and other nutrients.
