Steps to market your destination:

1. Identify your target customer

2. Develop plans to fulfill his/her needs in the best possible way

3. Give the plans a cost

4 Compare the cost with the cost that competitors are providing

5. Adjust your costs accordingly and notify the customers' of the best packages you are offering

Normally, there are following things which tourism marketing should have;

Attractions of the place

Accessibility to the place

Recreational activities at the place

Accomodation facilities

Commercial feasibility: rates of packages etc.

It is an organization that promotes a city, a town or any other specific place for that matter. Its aim is to increase the number of visitors, develop infrastructure and develop the place, look after the security of the visitors and other such things which aid in increasing the tourism revenues.

DMOs represent their place through:

Attractions, Sports, Restaurants, Businesses, Culture, History, nightlife and several other factors

For eg, DMO for NZ promoted the tourism by focusing on places where the movie HOBBIT was shot. The movie depicted beautiful scenaries and was shot in NZ, and hence the toursim board used this to promote their place.
