. The drive components of a two-speed bicycle are constructed as follows: • The rear wheel has a radius of 50 cm • The front gear has a radius of 10 cm, and is connected to the pedals • There are two rear gears: one with a radius of 5 cm (“high gear”), and one with a radius of 10 cm (“low gear”) • A chain connects the front gear to one of the rear gears; the cyclist can choose which one (“shift gears”) • None of the other components of the bicycle matter. Suppose that our cyclist wants to ride at a constant v = 10 m/s, and that there is a constant drag force of 15 N. Determine each of the following for both low gear and for high gear. (Some of these will be the same for both.) It will be helpful for you to draw an extended force diagram for the rear wheel + gear, and another for the front gear, since you will need to think about the torques applied to each from traction and the chain (rear), and the chain and pedals (front). (a) The traction force on the rear wheel (b) The angular velocity of the rear wheel (and the gear attached to it) (c) The tangential velocity of the rear gear, which is equal to the velocity of the chain and thus to the tangential velocity of the front gear (d) The tension in the chain; note that only the top portion of the chain bears tension (e) The angular velocity of the front gear (and thus the pedals) (f) The torque the cyclist must apply to the pedals (g) The power the cyclist must supply to the pedals

My car is Jeep Cherokee 2016 latitude with two-wheel rear drive, and please give me a complete plan to test my Jeep's suspension system. For the rest information, I can use the values get from Google. Is it underdamped, overdamped, or else? Is it time to replace them yet? Why? If you can provide graph in excel, it would be great, Thanks.

A demonstration gyroscope wheel is constructed by removing the tire from a bicycle wheel 0.640 mm in diameter, wrapping lead wire around the rim, and taping it in place. The shaft projects 0.210 mm at each side of the wheel, and a woman holds the ends of the shaft in her hands. The mass of the system is 9.50 kgkg ; its entire mass may be assumed to be located at its rim. The shaft is horizontal, and the wheel...

Spinning with the bicycle wheel. The person sat on the stool holding the bicycle wheel with the handles vertical and the wheel stopped. Hint the person move counterclockwise. 6. With person feet off the floor (and on the stool’s foot support), the wheel was set to spin rapidly. In which direction is the wheel spinning (CW or CCW)? In which direction was the person spinning (CW or CCW)? 7. The person now stops the wheel. What happens? 8. Explain what...

A steel bicycle wheel (without the rubber tire) is rotating freely with an angular speed of 14.5 rad/s. The temperature of the wheel changes from -142 to 244 °C. No net external torque acts on the wheel, and the mass of the spokes is negligible. What is the angular speed of the wheel at the higher temperature?

Borg Power Trains produces drive-train components for all-wheel drive automobiles. For simplicity, assume the company produces two products, a transfer case and a transmission clutch. Products are made of aluminum, screws, glue, and gasket material. You will be calculating direct materials variances for aluminum only. The transmission clutch requires 3 pounds of aluminum, 5 screws, 6 inches of gasket material and an ounce of glue. The transfer case requires 5 pounds of aluminum, 7 screws, 17 inches of gasket material,...

Consider an old-fashioned bicycle with a small wheel of radius 0.51 m and a large wheel of radius 0.8 m. Suppose the rider starts at rest, accelerates with a constant acceleration for 8 minutes to a velocity of magnitude 24.5 m/s. He maintains his velocity for 9.5 minutes and then decelerates, with constant deceleration, for 7.3 minutes. Find the total angle through which a point on the small wheel has turned.

A bicycle shop sells two styles of a road bike, 10-speed and 14-speed. During the month of September, the management expects to sell exactly 45 road bikes. The monthly profit is given by P(x,y)=−(1/9)x^2−5y^2−(1/9)xy+10x+65y−100, where x is the number of 10-speed road bikes sold and y is the number of 14-speed road bikes sold. How many of each type should be sold to maximize the profit in September?
