Expert Solution

Cell membrane

Structure - cell membrane is the outermost covering of a cell that separates it's internal content from outer surrounding. It's composed of a bilayer of lipids and proteins. Proteins are integrated into the bilayer of lipids. Fat molecules are arranged in such a manner that their hydrophobic ends head to each other, while hydrophilic ends are stretched towards internal and outer sides. Proteins make a channel for transportation of molecules.

Function -

The main function of cell membrane is to separate the internal content from outer content. Cell membrane is called semi permeable membrane, because it permits only necessary material for cell like - oxygen, carbon dioxide, glucose, water, ions and other nutrients. Cell membrane is a protective cover of cell.

Enzymes

Structure :- enzymes are composed of proteins. These are generally globular in structure. The structure of an enzyme is decided by the particular sequence of amino acids. Their sizes vary a lot depend upon the sequence.

Function :- the main function of an enzyme is play a role of catalyst in a chemical reaction. It can speed up of the reaction and slow as well. It's necessary for those reactions. Without the presence of enzymes catalytic reaction can't be happen. Many enzymes play a vital role in the metabolic reactions.
