3. Illustrate, using a particular problem in your country or community, how Sigmund Freud's theory can explain human behaviour. - 100 words
2. The unconscious mind is the primary source of human behavior, according to Freud (1915), it is like an iceberg, it is the most important part of the mind that we cannot see. Our feelings, motives and decisions are actually powerfully influenced by our past experiences that are stored in the unconscious. According to Freud our personality or psyche comprises of; the id, ego and superego. The id is regarded as entirely unconscious, the ego and superego have conscious, preconscious, and unconscious aspect. Thus things that have happened in our childhood govern our behavior as we grow. For example, if a child was abused sexually in his childhood he may have a behavioral issue as he grows like; withdrawn and abusive behavior.
3. A particular problem in our community and Sigmund Freud's theory’s explanation of the human behavior includes the problem of sexual abuse in our community in kids by people close to the child such as parents and caregivers may lead to the development of lack of confidence, abusive behavior and withdrawn behavior of the child. Such abusive behavior affects the unconscious mind and thus effects the behavior of the child as he grows.
