Answer –
When student added 150 mL of water to the beaker containing 10 mL of unknown metal nitrate solution instead of 100 mL of water as instructed, then there is error is occurred in the experiment. There is significantly affect the volume of NaOH that must be added in the titration.
When we added 150 ml water instate 100 mL water then there is concentration of metal nitrate decrease and so the volume required of NaoH for the 100 mL water and 10 mL metal nitrate will be different than for the 150 mL of water and 10 mL metal nitrate.
If instructions are for 100 mL water and 10 mL metal nitrate means there is fix NaOH volume required for titration, but when student added more water means 150 mL then volume of NaOH required less than actual, since there is decrease in the concentration of metal nitrate. So this showing the error in the experiment and significantly affect the volume of NaOH that must be added in the titration
