The social media can include great mass of people to join in a movement or activity because its reach is global. It has played a major role in instigating, organizing and in accelerating some revolutions that take place all over the world. The social media has succeeded in doing this through empowering the youth in their rights against regimes and their predicament for freedom and independence.

Example: An example of this is facebook, twiter and blogging which have made it more possible for political activists to communicate their message across in an efficient manner. The internet helps people organize protests in a solidified effort in a short period of time. It can also provide a platform for people to express their solidarity. This provides a channel for the less fortunate or the youth to express their dissatisfaction and frustrations with the problems they face such as unemployment or corruption.
