Solutions

Expert Solution

1. Cannabinoids: This is a chemical compound that acts on cannabinoid receptor of cells thereby acting on the neurotransmitter release from the brain.

Cannabis: This is a psychoactive drug obtained from the cannabis plant with medical or recreational uses. It is taken through smoking, vapourizing, food, etc that shows immediate effects. Side effects of these drugs are the short term memory loss along with drying of the mouth.

Phytocannabinoids: They are plant-derived natural products that interact with cannabinoid receptors or that are chemically similar with cannabinoids.

Delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol: This is one of the cannabinoids present in the cannabis plant that is the psychoactive compound of cannabis.

Marijunna: This is the other name of cannabis with Delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol as the main psychoactive compound

Dabbing: This refers to vaporizing marijuana in concentrated form.

2. Hashish and marijuana both originate from female cannabis plant while they differ in THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) content. 25-30% THC is found in marijuana whereas 20-60% is found in hashish thus showing that hashish is the strongest. Marijuana is from dried plants whereas hashish is a pure resin that has to be processed which usually takes longer time in production from separation to drying to filtration. Thus hashish is the processed product of marijuana.

3. Marijuana is a natural plant grown for medicinal and recreational purposes while K2 is the synthetic chemical relatives of marijuana that are legal to use.

4. Marijuana -THC content 40-80%, highly potent, DEA-schedule I

Dronabinol- THC content 100%, highly potent, DEA-schedule II

WIN52212-12- DEA-schedule II

5. Delta 9 THC- Following inhalation, THC is found in plasma within seconds whereas through oral ingestion absorption is relatively slow.
