Solutions

Expert Solution

a) For 1 Australian dollar, we will get 22.1892 Thailand Baht.

So for 10,000,000 Thailand Baht , we will need 1/22.1892*10,000,000= 450,669 Australian dollar.

b)

Formula(concept) :

Let Currency A be INR

Currency B be USD

If currency A/B ie INR/USD bid ask rate is qouted as 70/71

This is direct quote for USD

To find direct quote for INR i.e USD/INR we do the following

1/71 / 1/70

=0.014/ 0.0142

i) 1/0.5459 / 1/0.5458

= 1.8318 / 1.8321

ii) 1/4.9907 / 1/4.9872

= 0.2003 / 0.2005

iii) 1/53.669 / 1/53.572

= 0.01863 / 0.01866

iv) 1/3.0139 / 1/3.0104

= 0.3317 / 0.3321

v) 1/12.234 / 1/12.2272

= 0.0817 / 0.0817

c)

Concept/ Formula:

If Currency A/B is qouted as {U/V}

If Currency C/B is qouted as {X/Y}

Therefore A/C will be qouted as {U/Y  /  V/X}

i) 0.5458/0.6551 / 0.5459/0.6551

0.8332/0.8333

ii) 34.953/22.2317 / 35.135/22.1892

1.5722/1.5834

iii) 5.5349/3.0139 / 5.5364/3.0104

1.8365/1.8391

iv) 75.7/53.669 / 75.7/53.572

1.4105/1.4131

v) 4.9872/0.6551 / 4.9907/0.6551

7.6129/7.6182

d) on selling 100000 ZAR on august 5 We will get :

100000 ZAR/12.2340 = 8179.94 AUD
