John Maynard Keynes
Biography:
Keynes belonged to a good and prosperous family with comfortable
living. He was born on 1883 and was the son of a well known
economist at that time. His father also worked as an economic
administrator at Cambridge. Keynes mother also graduated from
Cambridge university.
Keynes was not into his father's profession right from the
beginning rather mathematics was his subject of interest and fall
under his domain.
When Keynes joined Cambridge for higher studies , he had an
encounter with Alfred Marshall who later on became Keynes
inspiration. He played an integral role in shifting the focus and
interest of Keynes from mathematics to economics and
politics.
Keynes also made some important associations in Cambridge like
popular writers and artists.
After earning the degree of B.A then M.A from Cambridge , keynes
joined the civil services for living. He worked on some major
projects there which increased his interest in economics even more.
It was there , his carrer as an economist started.
His first major work was (the indian currency)/
After few years of job, he returned to Cambridge where he
started teaching economics. This was his turning point of starting
researches and recommending theories. Then keynes returned back to
his civil service work and now worked at a higher position in
treasury, an agency more powerful.
He studies the scant of supply of foreign currencies there.
Hid brilliant performance had let him stay continue as a
government servant but it was the Peace Conference in Versailles
taht changed his decision and goal.
Thus to get rid of the dirty politics and overburdened policies he
finally left the civil job
Key Contributions in the field of Economics:
Keynes had a very reputed position at Cambridge both when he
studies as a outstanding student or while he wirjed as an
intellectual teacher. He received a lot of respect there. He was
also awarded with certain trophies in honour of his brilliant and
diligent work.
During this period in Cambridge, keynes had already contributed a lot of factual and logical concepts in economic field that later on became hypothesis and then principles on which the law of economics even works today.
He started with explaining about how the market functioned by
evaluating the extremities of its functioning and emerged the
concept of competitive marketing. He analysed how people used to
spend their income.
Keynes never challenged the traditional or conventional knowledge
nor ever claimed his theory to be true but always remained
skeptical although sure about his work
However it was not late when the two most powerful theories or
opinions of keynes foreshadowed the theoretical concept in almost
1930.
Before the end of Great depression , keynes expressed his concerns
for the prevailing unemployment of british coal miners, and
labourers.

The Multiplier Effect
Capital and interest
Then The General Theory Of Employment (book) came into being after keynes was botheted by the growing unemployment. He started his work and came up with the main deyerminants and influencing factors of employment or unemployment.
The book became very popular and was sold world wide, it is even today considered the best book.
He also has a great contribution towards the understanding of interest rates and money supply
Life Achievements
Keynes is known today as the father of Keynesian economics and his
laws, theories, hypothesis and even generalized opinions are into
implementation even today, students are taught keynasian economics
and his contribution to economics forms the basis of various
energing principles today.
The Keynesian model has been playing an integral role in economic
textbooks and it is found relevant in some manner today also.
He is today known by the renowned and worldwide popular economist
of 20th century.
Cambridge still hosts an event in his rememberance and shows
gratitude for the contributions made by him to the economics as
well as for the services rendered.
He was several times awarded by life achievement awards as well as with many trophies for outstanding work as a student as well as a teacher.
He was just not only an economist but has worked at various high
positions and posts.
He has worked as a a director of the Bank of England, a renowned
director of the British Eugenics Society, an artist , political
advocate. He played a major role at
Bloomsbery Group of intellectuals.
