Butter and margarine

  1. Butter is made from animal fat and contains saturated fat. This type of fat is known to increase blood cholesterol levels leading to increased risk of heart diseases.
  2. Margarine on the other hand is made up of vegetable oils and contains unsaturated fats. This type of fat reduce blood cholesterol levels (LDL) and reduce the risk of heart disease. Hence one can substitute margarine instead of butter in their diet to lead a healthy life.
