    d.
Multiple enhancers for a gene

2. is it true or false Mesenchymal stem cells generally have a greater range of potential cell types than other adult stem cells.

Solutions

Expert Solution

2.) d.) Multiple enhancer for a gene.

Enhancer are the DNA sequence that controls the efficiency and the transcription rate of the gene by binding with the transcription factors, and the enhancer modularity describe as a concept where multiple enhancers are there for a gene or many seperate enhancers allow a particular protein to be expressed in some tissues while not expressed in other tissues. It means single gene is regulated by multiple enhancer.

2.) False

Mesenchymal stem cells generally have a less range of potential cell types than other adult stem cells as adult stem cells are differentiated cells and are found in whole body after development while mesenchymal stem cells are the multipotent stomal cells, it differentiate into cells like bone cells, cartilage cells, muscle cells, and the cells of adipose tissue only. So, as after development the adult stem cell form most of the body cells, so it has greater range potential cell types than mesenchymal stem cell. Adult stem cells form various types of cells like haematopoietic stem cells, mammary stem cells, intestinal stem cells, neural stem cells, endothelial stem cells and many more.
